The mission of the Bakersfield College Biological Sciences Department is to establish high quality science education, instilling discipline competencies for students in the vocational education, general education, and transfer pathways supported by BC biology curriculum. The BC biology department pedagogical strategies value active learning, field experience, critical thinking, and exposure to professional and research biological activities. Biology faculty are dedicated to providing rigorous biology education that is responsive to our diverse institutional and community needs.
Elliot transferred to UC Berkeley and majoring in Biological Sciences with an emphasis in Conservation and Natural Resources. Her long term goal is to obtain her Ph. D. and continue to do research that improves policy to protect habitat and increase resource sustainability.
Navjot transferred to UCLA and majoring in Biological Sciences with an emphasis in Neuroscience. His long term goal is to go to medical school and become a neurosurgeon.
